MY Ramp

Its been a while since my last post, but this one took time and I've been busy. I have made a ramp for my remote control car. My camera broke so I couldn't film it but here are some photos from my phone.

I think it is quite good the way  the side looks is also quite cool. My car can easily drive up and down it and I Created a platform for it to turn around on at the top.

My New and Upgraded KAPLA Hotel

With this building I was planning to make a huge Skyscraper but the planning went a bit wrong and I ended up making this...

My new upgraded Hotel. Now it has a proper tower on the right hand side. Also part of the Building is sticking out which in real life would bring extra space. It would fit right into a Las Vegas street if it had all the colours which I cant use.

Now here are the scores...

My Best Building So Far

Hello there and welcome to my latest post. I have worked very hard on this post and took me over three hours. I decided to make a levitated mansion/house/town hall which requires skill. It has a base which on top I have designed my own pillars for the house to rest on, on the top I have made a clock tower without a clock.

Personally, I think this is my best building so far. It required a good design, skill and creativeness. So here are the scores.

Me Inside a KAPLA Swirl

With inspiration from the Internet, I have created a circular structure, which I am inside! Standing approximately 1.5m tall, I give you, Me Inside a KAPLA Swirl...

It was massive and only took me an hour to make. Not much skill was involved apart from the fact I had to try not to touch the bricks or it would of all fell down.

My Kapla Hotel

This is inspired from one of the first pictures I posted on this blog which I found on the internet. I'm going to call it Brick Hotel. Have a look:

I used the same theme as that photo but I created my own towers on each side, I think this is one of my Best Creations.

My Kapla Sculpture

This time I have made a tower, it could be a sculpture, it could be a building. I am pleased with the bottom half, but I think the structure on top of it ruined it a bit, have a look for yourself...

As you can see not the best model ever, it is more of a sculpture so, without further ado, here are the ratings...

My Bridge

Hi there, this is my first post of an actual model. So here is a bridge I made.

It is a grand Bridge and it was very large and at each end I made towers to make it look bigger and better. For the towers I used lots of different patterns to construct them with. The bridge itself is suspended in the air because of the structure it has and the way the bricks are put together.

Here is a picture of what it looked like without the towers:

For every creation I make I'm going to rate it on different aspects. The aspects will probably change or get new ones added in. So...:

Creativeness: 8/10
Skill: 7/10
Design: 7/10

If you have any other ideas for aspects to mark  it on, let me know in the comment section.

KAPLA

Kapla is a type of construction toy which was created by Tom van der Bruggen in 1988. They are identical planks of wood measuring 12 centimetres in length. They are used to make all sorts of creations animals, buildings, vehicles and sculptures. As you can see they can create amazing models out of just planks. Personally, I think they are amazing and really creative.

I first found out about KAPLA when my Mum took me on a day out to Cardiff. We went to the Doctor Who experience and Techniquest, which is a massive interactive Science museum. In Techniquest there is a room full of Kapla and we saw some posters around and saw what they were and what you could make out of them. We were there for the remaining 45 minutes until it closed playing and making models. On the left is the first KAPLA model I made. Its not spectacular, but its what I made first and I'm quite proud.

Then this Christmas my Mum got us a huge box of KAPLA which contained 1000 bricks, so far I have made two big models and in this blog I will post all my creations, weird wonderful and some may just be stupid.
