Kapla is a type of construction toy which was created by Tom van der Bruggen in 1988. They are identical planks of wood measuring 12 centimetres in length. They are used to make all sorts of creations animals, buildings, vehicles and sculptures. As you can see they can create amazing models out of just planks. Personally, I think they are amazing and really creative.
I first found out about KAPLA when my Mum took me on a day out to Cardiff. We went to the Doctor Who experience and Techniquest, which is a massive interactive Science museum. In Techniquest there is a room full of Kapla and we saw some posters around and saw what they were and what you could make out of them. We were there for the remaining 45 minutes until it closed playing and making models. On the left is the first KAPLA model I made. Its not spectacular, but its what I made first and I'm quite proud.
Then this Christmas my Mum got us a huge box of KAPLA which contained 1000 bricks, so far I have made two big models and in this blog I will post all my creations, weird wonderful and some may just be stupid.
